Balmung of Soten and Reki continue their discussion of the Yoroi General from the last episode. According to Reki, the enemy doesn’t exist in the game management’s records and no other Yoroi General has appeared in a beginner’s level.
In the real world, we see a glimpse of Shugo’s home life. His father works long hours, sometimes pulling all-nighters, and often Shugo eats dinner alone. Soon after his father leaves for another night at work, Shugo logs back into The World.
Rena is already waiting for him inside the game when he appears. Mileyu asks to join their party and tries to use a Talisman of Great Speed, but the twins dodge the talisman’s effects and temporarily ditch her. Anxious to start their next quest, the twins decide in the Sakura (Cherry Blossom) Tree Party posted on the bulletin board. According to the description, “Warriors! Meet at the area: The Labyrinth of the Troubled Sakura Trees. I’ll anticipate the blooming of a magnificent flower.” When they realize they’ll need a magic user, they agree to let Mileyu play with them.
The twins quickly learn that Mileyu stinks at magic when, at the Labyrinth, she fails miserably to get trees to bloom with her heal and water spells. She leaves the party to find an item that may help.
Meanwhile, Balmung sips saki underneath the non-blooming cherry trees and watches Rena and Shugo, who reminisce about playing beneath cherry blossom trees during their childhood. A blue-eyed dog catches Shugo’s attention and soon, he is happily playing with the game animal and considering buying him. When Balmung overhears this, he goes over to voice his concerns to the twins. Apparently, strange things are happening now that Kite and Black Rose are back in The World. He inquires about Shugo’s bracelet and learns about the girl in white who told him only he can save The World.
Elsewhere, Mileyu solves the mystery of the non-blooming cherry trees when she remembers corpses are hidden beneath them. She digs to find a skeleton, which suddenly reanimates and chases her. Balmung, who created the quest, becomes concerned because he didn’t add skeleton monsters into the game. He sends a powerful blast through the skeleton, but it revives and attacks the twins.
When Rena slips, Shugo Data Drains the skeleton, stopping all actions in the game for a brief moment. When players regain movement, Shugo’s dog transforms itself into wolf girl, Ouka of Shinken (Divine Right), who was trapped in dog form until Shugo’s Data Drain released her. Fortunately, Ouka is one of the strongest warriors in The World and easily takes care of the skeleton.
As the effects of the Data Drain wear off, spells Mileyu used during her fight with the skeleton begin to work again. One destroys a tree, leaving a sandy residue. Shugo quickly uses this item to make other trees bloom, winning the quest.
As a reward for clearning the event, Shugo obtains a rare necklace, which he gives it to Ouka. She tells him to call her if he ever needs help.
