Nana awakens to find herself in Kurama's arms. She hugs her Papa. He tries to comfort her by telling her she should have left this place. Meanwhile, Lucy pins Bando on the beach and threatens him but walks away rather than killing him.

At the Kaede House, Yuka explains to Mayu that Kohta's father and sister were murdered in front of him. He went into shock and spent a year in the hospital. Though there were many other victims, the killer was never caught. He still doesn't remember the events, but that's why he feels he must help out those in need. They remind him of Kanae. Yuka starts crying, ashamed that she felt so jealous of the other girls. She admits to Mayu that she's in love with him.

Mariko lies in a hospital bed recovering from her run in with Nana. For some mysterious reason, she is not able to pull out her vectors. Isobe finds it hard to believe that this monster is Kurama's daughter.

Kurama heads towards the hospital, knowing that he must now do what he couldn't do so many years ago - kill his own daughter. As Nana tries to dissuade him, she senses Lucy coming towards them.

Mariko also senses Lucy's presence and makes a miraculous recovery. With a swift motion, she extends her vectors and murders the guards outside her room. Isobe decides to make a run for it while Lucy and Mariko duke it out. The final battle begins.

Lucy tells Mariko she doesn't want anyone else involved. The two girls fight - and Lucy quickly learns that Mariko has more vectors. She decides to play it stealthily and finds a place to hide while she evaluates the situation.

At the right time, Lucy strikes, knocking Mariko out of her wheel chair and tears off her arm. Mariko retaliates, knocking Lucy backwards into the building foundation and ripping off one of her horns. The impact knocks the wind out of Lucy and causes the building to start crumbling. Isobe sees his chance and readies the cell phone - Mariko will soon be dead.

Not deterred by the fighting or building damage, Kurama confronts his daughter. She recognizes him and pulls herself to her feet. She stumbles over to see him, but bursts into tears when she sees he has a gun. She cries that all this time she's been looking forward to the day when she would be reunited with her parents. Now they finally meet - how could he do this to her? He was supposed to take care of her.

Kurama replies that he was forced to kill so many other children. He wanted to spare his own daughter, but sparing her only led to a life of suffering. Nana tugs at Kurama's arm and begs him to leave. When Mariko hears Nana call him Papa, she flips out and chokes Nana. She then asks Kurama if he'd be sad if she killed Nana.

Sadly, Kurama walks over to Mariko and hugs her. The magnitude of her suffering now hits him. He took everything good - warmth and love - from her but he's never forgotten her. He apologizes and promises that from now on, they'll be together. He then signals to Isobe to detonate the bomb.

As Kurama walks off with Mariko in his arms, he asks Nana to promise that she'll be happy. As he holds Mariko, he tells her that her mother loved her until her last breath. Both of them loved her more than she could ever realize. It's the last thing she hears before the bomb explodes.

Nana drops to her knees in grief while Isobe pulls a gun on Nana. Lucy isn't far behind and chops off his head. She then tells Nana to go live with Kohta. Live the life she can't.

Arakawa meets with Chief Kakuzawa, who tears off his wig to reveal his horns. He demands that his team kill Lucy.

Meanwhile, Lucy meets Kohta on the stone steps. She explains that she was born to destroy humans - and in five more years, there will be more diclonius than humans. But if she was to fulfill her life's purpose, Kohta would have to die. She admits that those days she spent with him were the only good d
