Bando demands to know about Nano's horns. She replies that even if there were 100 of him, he still couldn't kill her. But Papa told her not to kill, so she'll try to obey. Bando retorts that he knows she's Lucy's friend. When she turns to walk away, he shoots her with custom made .50 caliber tungsten bullets - the kind she can't repel.
As Mayu tries to decide whether to tell Yuka and Kohta about her encounter with Bando, Bando forcefully asks Nana where Lucy is. She asks why he's doing this. She's done nothing wrong. She's a good girl and wants to obey Papa's orders not to fight. Bando kicks her and tells her there's no place where she'll be welcome. She's an enemy of mankind. The horned humans are killed when they are born. Those that live are guinea pigs - those pests that carry a virus that will one day kill off mankind. He was ordered to kill her by Kakuzawa. Confused, she asks why she was born if she can't live in this world? If that's how it is, she'll kill. With that, Nana extends her vectors.
While Kohta tries to get Nyu to increase her vocabulary, Bando fires at Nana. She shows no pain as she steadily moves closer until she's within range to use her vectors and pin him down. He pulls another gun and blows off her arm. The kickback is so hard it shatters his mechanical arm. She then tries to reason with him. Lucy is also her enemy, but she's not around here. If she was, Nana would be able to sense her. They should work together. When he refuses, she reattaches her arm but tells her to come find him at the beach if she learns anything.
When Shirakawa informs the director that Kurama let Number 7 escape, he's irate. The last thing they need is another Lucy on the loose. She tries to explain that he considers Number 7 his daughter. The director laughs and asks if he told her what happened. Yes, his daughter was infected by the vector virus so he killed her himself. Kakuzawa laughs and declares that he will punish Kurama for disobeying.
Meanwhile, Nana roams the streets looking for food. She goes up to an ice cream vendor but doesn't have the 500 yen to buy it and sadly walks away. Mayu just so happens to be walking Wanta when she bumps into Nana at the fighting ground. Still convinced the Nana/Lucy fight was a dream, she passes out when Nana's limb accidentally falls off in front of her.
While Kohta tries to question Nyu about how she escaped from Prof Kakuzawa, Nana tends to an unconscious Mayu. When she wakes up, Mayu asks about her leg. Nana casually explains that it comes off when she's not paying attention. She then asks Mayu to be her friend. She's been in a facility for such a long time and doesn't know anything about the outside world. Now, she's just lonely and hungry.
Mayu quickly agrees and then stops horrified when she sees how much money Nana has just burned. Nana explains she was trying to keep warm. Mayu quickly explains that her Papa must be very worried about her if he gave her this much money. As Mayu talks about her home life and about Nyu, Nana soon realizes that it was Mayu who stopped the fight and briefly changes into her vector self before agreeing to walk Mayu home.
Kohta is just about to go out looking for Mayu when she and Nana arrive home. Kohta takes one look at Nana's head and floods her with questions. Confused, Nana still can't sense Lucy and decides to leave, but they offer her food so she is compelled to stay. As Kohta opens the door, Nyu flies out to greet him. The two girls immediately see one another and attack.
