Hibari Hanakogenei is your average, super-cute 12 year old junior high school student with an obsession for fad toys. The latest craze is Pata-Pi pets, kawaii yellow blobs with big eyes that squeak and occasionally speak a word. Hibari must be the only girl in school not to have one, but that is about to change when a strange Prince calls her to place from her dreams and beams her down her very own Pata-Pi, Densuke.
True to magical shojo format, the Dark Prince, Master Shooting Star, has set a plan in motion to steal away her Pata-Pi and sure enough, Hibari is soon confronted by a villainess with huge boobs who wants her Pata-Pi. Just when it looks like the baddies will get their way, Densuke transforms into an older looking and much stronger version of Hibari, clad in Bubblegum Crisis attire with angelic wings. I'd say Densuke kicks butt, but the monsters don't put up much of a fight.
Together with her two friends, Suzume and Tsugumi, who coincidently also have transforming Pata-Pi, the Cyber Team in Akihabara set off to... well, right now, defend themselves against more baddies who want their Pata-Pi pets.
If you're a fan of this kind of magical shojo, this dvd offers you 5 episodes! You can read my anime review and episode guide for more info.
1 - Diva
Hibari receives her very own Pata-Pi, Densuke, from the Prince of her dreams. Unfortunately, some baddies are ready to fight dirty to take it from her. Luckily, Densuke has some tricks up his sleeve.
2 - The Black Meteor
Evil Black Falcon is after Densuke again. This time, Hibari's friend Suzume comes to her rescue with her Pata-Pi, Francesca.
3 - Homunculus
Blood Falcon goes after Suzume as Hibari befriends a new girl, Tsugumi, who also has a special transforming Pata-Pi.
4 - Death Crow
Suzume and Tsugumi bicker over which will be group leader while a new baddie named Death Crow joins Blood Falcon to steal the girls' Pata-Pi pets.
5 - Cockatrice
There's a Pata-Pi contest at the school's spring festival and the CyberTeam is anxious to participate. Unfortunately, a new baddie named Dark Pigeon is about to interfere.
Audio/Visual:
My Rating:
Like most magical shojo, much of CyberTeam involves the girls screaming excitedly about this or that - from fantasizing about boys to becoming a pop idol to having their Pata-Pi being crowned the best in the world. When it comes to dramatics, this anime doesn't disappoint! And prepare for a number of sugary-jpop songs that are repeated over and over.
Packaging:
My Rating:
Kawaii Hibari and her Pata-Pi, Densuke grace the cover of this dvd in a super-cute pose. The back has a few rough pictures of the three CyberTeam girls, Hibari's Diva, and a cheering Pata-Pi.

The menu is very easy to navigate with options on the left and Densuke standing on a pile of books to the right. Scene selection from the main menu isn't an option on this dvd, unfortunately.
Extras:
My Rating:
There are very few extras, the trade off being 5 episodes instead of the standard 4! Character sketches are included as well as a clean opening and closing theme and some previews of upcoming ADV releases.
